For non-urgent information about mental health support, contact The Lighthouse on 07307 618914 or email info@thelighthousecmhh.org.

If you feel you are developing a mental health issue or you are in crisis, you should seek the advice and support of your GP as a matter of urgency.

For the most part, if you are in distress, need immediate help, are unable to see your GP, and are resident in South Cumbria, you can get support advice from the Lancashire and South Cumbria Foundation Trust on freephone – 0800 013 0710. To sum up, calling this number enables you to access urgent or general mental health support 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

More information about mental health organisations that provide support/helplines can be found on our Need Help Now page.

    Contact The Lighthouse to Volunteer

In general, volunteers form the structure upon which all non-profit organisations are built. Non-profit, Voluntary Sector Organisation, NGO – the names come and go. Surprisingly, what doesn’t change, though, is that whatever the current fashionable name is, their work remains the same.

NGO stands for non-governmental organisation. While there is no universally agreed-upon definition of an NGO, typically it is a voluntary group or institution with a social mission, which operates independently from the government.

Of course, as an NGO, The Lighthouse is no different and relies heavily on its volunteer team to help provide services and activities.

Like most organisations, during these difficult economic times, we find it increasingly difficult to recruit and retain our amazing team. As a result, we maintain an ongoing volunteer recruitment programme. Can you help? Visit our Volunteering page for more details and information.

    Contact The Lighthouse to Fundraise

A leading provider of peer support in South Lakeland to improve mental health and wellbeing, The Lighthouse relies heavily on the generosity of funders and benefactors.

Moreover, everybody can help! From fundraising to individual gifts and donations, any amount, large or small, is invaluable to us and our work.

You can find detailed information on how to help on the Fundraising Section of our Supporters page. Of course, if you prefer, you can visit our JustGiving page to donate funds directly to us. Thank you so much!
